"Lego" is the Latin word for "I assemble" - and therefore completely appropriate for the modularity of the company's later invention, the LEGO brick.”
Buford Academy Lego Building Club
About Us: I am thrilled to announce this is our first year offering Lego Building Club at Buford Academy. The Lego Building Club promotes creativity and problem solving. Students will design, create and build based on a “budget” given. The students will experience the connection between science, technology, engineering and math while having FUN! This is not free play of Legos.
BAT Club Activities
We have an educational purpose. Some of our club activities will include:
■ Sorting and classifying Legos based on physical characteristics (color, shape, size, etc.)
■ Students will be given a “budget” to gather and “purchase” needed materials (Legos) to build certain structures.
■ Students will be challenged to stick within that “budget”.
■ Students will create objects that work to solve a particular problem.
Lego Building Club Schedule
Monday mornings 7:20-8:00 September 12th to November 28th (We meet each Monday morning school is in session) in the BATcave – Mrs. Archer’s technology lab)
