CAMPUS VISITOR PROCEDURE
At Buford Academy we care about the safety of our students. Because we want to ensure that our students are protected, there is a new visitor safety procedure in place. Effective January 6, 2014 all visitors will be required to scan their State issued picture ID upon entering the building. This is required for ALL VISITORS, so please have your identification ready EACH time you visit.
BUFORD HOMECOMING TRADITION GOING STRONG!
Once again Buford Academy proved just how much spirit that it has at our annual Homecoming Pep Rally. The energy in the air was crackling with Buford Pride. There was cheering. There was celebrating. There was football players, cheerleaders, drum line, and family. What a great way to start the Homecoming festivities! IT WAS EPIC!
2nd Annual PTO Family Involvement & International Night Has OVERWHELMING Turnout
The hard work of our students, teachers, and parent volunteers was obvious at International Night. In just one night we traveled the globe learning so much about the cultures of people of our world. To say it was a success would be an understatement. It was a terrific event. Thanks to all of you for participating.
"September 16, 2014 – The Georgia Department of Education today released its 2014 list of Reward Schools, designated as part of the state’s waiver from the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA). Each Reward School is a Title I school that falls into one of two categories:
A Highest-Performing School is among the five percent of the state’s Title I schools with the highest absolute performance, over three years, for the “all students” group on the statewide assessments. A school may not be classified as a Highest-Performing School if it has been identified as a Priority, Focus, or Alert School.
“The schools on this list represent some of the finest efforts being put forth in Georgia education,” State Superintendent Dr. John Barge said. “The educators, parents, students, and communities who came together to move these schools forward should take great pride in the results.” (www.doe.org)

Character Education: School Spirit
"First of all, what is school spirit? Well, it's not really something you can put your finger on. It's that feeling you get when you enter a school, attend a game, or watch a pep rally. The feeling that everyone is proud of their team, their school and the students that attend there; past, present and future. It's an excitement in the air, an invisible electricity that seems to emanate from everywhere. It's pride, it's camaraderie, and it's the involvement of everyone in the community. It's what sets some schools apart, it's what makes school memories so precious, and even though you can't define it in one word, you know it when you see it, hear it and feel it. It's what possesses some people to paint their faces in their school colors, wear outrageous wigs, tattoo animal footprints on their bodies, or do a wave dance in the stands. That's school spirit."
