Book Character Dress Up Day is is FULL OF CHARACTER!
All of our favorite characters from children's literature came to life as we celebrated the birthday of Dr. Seuss. The children looked AMAZING and we had a great time discussing all of the characters that invaded our school. We topped off the day with an amazing birthday brownie to celebrate the Seuss!
All Pro Dads Closes out the Year!
Our final All Pro Dads Breakfast was another smashing success! We want to thank all of the Dads, Granddads, Uncles, and other Important Men that have joined our kids over the course of this school year. There is nothing more special than walking in and seeing these kids enjoying some very special one on one time with the important men in their lives.
Thank You Dads
for making All Pro Dads what it is!
B.A. Kids are Getting Fit in the New Year
At Buford Academy our Physical Education Department prides itself on keeping our kids healthy and active. Our students participate in a variety of fitness programs on a daily basis. Our hope is that our children will adopt regular physical activity as a part of their lifestyle. There are four main goals of modern physical education:
• to improve physical fitness,
• to shape positive attitudes towards physical activity,
• to give children the skills they need to enjoy different physical activities,
• to help them understand the importance of regular exercise and the connection between physical health and general well-being.

Character Education: Courage
"Where do you see courage, in yourself and in others? How can we help our children understand what courage looks and feels like?
Here are some tips for teaching your children about courage:
Help them see their own courage. When you see courage in your children, identify it. “It took courage to stand up for yourself like that.” “It sounds like you did the right thing even though it wasn’t easy. That is what we call courage.”
Make a family practice of connecting and contributing.
Self-reflect in the presence of your children.
Model doing what is right for you, even when it isn’t popular with your child."
