Georgia Milestones measures how well students have learned the knowledge and skills outlined in the state-adopted content standards in English Language Arts (Reading) and mathematics for students in 3rd grade.
Buford City Schools will administer the Georgia Milestones End of Grade assessments beginning the week of April 24, 2023. All students who are present during the assigned testing dates/times will be expected to participate in the appropriate grade level assessment.
Buford City Schools is a Title 20 No-Waivers School District; therefore, students in grade 3 must pass the Reading portion of the Milestones (EOG) assessment to be promoted, while students in grades 5 & 8 must pass Reading and Math EOG assessments to be promoted. All non-participants as well as students who do not pass the assessments in the May administration will be offered a retest opportunity in June. If students fail or do not participate in the Milestones (EOG) assessments, parents will be required to meet with the school principal and teacher for placement determination for the 2023-2024 school year.
